6 Questions you should ask before renting a photo booth.

6 Questions you should ask before renting a photo booth.

1. What’s the price?

We receive a lot of inquiries every day and sometimes customers let us know that they’ve found a lower price on a Groupon or Thumbtack deal. Later they find out that the initial quote they received didn’t include all the extra “hidden” fees. Some companies offer you the bottom end quote and don’t include props, on the spot emailing and social sharing, a link with all the pictures, or any graphics work for the print card. This is where we offer EVERYTHING included.

2. Do you have liability insurance?

We know, it’s a photo booth, what could possibly happen? Most likely nothing will happen…Hopefully right? It’s as simple as taping an extension cord down and then finding out when you go to remove it that it takes half the floor with it! This a precaution most venues take seriously as they won’t allow non-insured companies at their event nights.    We are serious about our business and are willing to fork out for a policy that keeps us and you safe rather than sorry!

3. Can anyone vouch for your services?

Make sure you ask for references,  this is crucial as it is the best identifier of the actual service provided.  Check websites for testimonials.  We have a few of our favorite posts on our site’s home page.

4. What is the quality of the photo booth?

This is your big day, one of the most… if not the most important day of your life, and after all the planning it should go perfectly right? The last thing you want is a beautiful reception area, with an ugly, ghetto, old school looking Photo Booth in the corner. “Just say no to the tent”!  We have spotted some “interesting” photo booths out there.  Some are homemade DIY  setups… some even have IPADs with a ring light! This leads us to the next question…

5. What is the quality of the photos?

This sounds trivial,  but there is actually a lot that goes into capturing a high-quality photo in a photo booth. Ask the company to see examples of past photos. Here is our entire Gallery Do they appear dark or is the camera flashing? Our Booth has a built-in professional-grade studio flash.   This lighting ensures that the photos are bright, rich, and that the camera won’t flash. This means no red eyes!   Be sure to ask what kind of camera the booth features? The last thing you want to find out is that your precious memories were capture on a 200$ iPhone or iPad. We use a Canon Rebel SL2 DSLR camera that takes professional photos. Lastly, the printer? We use the fastest dye- sublimation printer on the market that prints beautiful black & white and color photos in about 6.3 seconds.

6.What happens if something breaks? Do you have a backup?

Photobooths are finicky things. They are computers, attached to cameras, attached to a flash, to touchscreens, etc… and technology fails. The most common is a flash burn out, a touchscreen fails, a camera overheating, or printer failure. So you need to have an extra of everything onsite. Mr. Booth brings doubles of everything. It may take us 10-15 minutes to fix but this is a big day for you and we are gonna capture it no matter what.

Now that you are armed with some information.  Start doing some digging around and I am sure you will find that Mr. Booth Photo Experiences offers the best photo booth experiences on Vancouver Island.
